“Creativity is contagious; pass it on.” … Albert Einstein
I’ve always been a mixed media artist, and now mostly work in metal. Unless we choose vintage, handmade or personalized objects for ourselves, we can end up looking like human peas in a pod. My intention is to make objects that have personal meaning for the wearer: Amulets and Talismans … that sums it up. History and humor guide me in the context of finding imaginary things at the edge of the ocean: shells, stones, weeds, or even bit of wood from old pirate ships!
My jewelry is made of silver, gold, copper, bronze, steel; and sometimes combined with weird or beautiful old objects; or even modern materials such as resin or Faux Bone, a plastic material. I strive for using appropriate materials infused with as much craftsmanship as I can manage. My idea is that Art Jewelry can be made of junk, but to be art, it has to have some thought behind it and be well made. It is small sculpture to wear and designed to make you remember your own stories.
