I have spent most of my life being drawn to science and working with my hands.  My educational and professional backgrounds are in plant biology and forestry. I want to convey the beauty of what I study to other people, and I do this through research, teaching, and art.  My work is nature based. I incorporate natural and reclaimed materials, with new materials, to demonstrate the beauty and interrelatedness of all things.  I often involve educational elements into my work.
